Internal Hackathon Organized at JCDMCOE to Prepare Students for Smart India Hackathon(SIH 2026) on 9-9-26

Sirsa, September 09, 2026: JCD Memorial College of Engineering (JCDMCOE) organized an Internal Hackathon as a preparatory initiative for the Smart India Hackathon (SIH). The event provided participating student teams with an opportunity to develop, present, and refine innovative solutions based on problem statements identified under various SIH tracks.

The hackathon comprised several stages, including team formation, problem selection, mentorship, solution development, and evaluation. Faculty members and experts guided the participating teams throughout the process and provided valuable suggestions for strengthening their projects.

A total of 13 teams, comprising six members each, participated in the internal hackathon, while 10 teams were nominated for further consideration. The projects addressed diverse real-world challenges in areas such as artificial intelligence, smart education, agriculture, blockchain, cybersecurity, healthcare, email security, and satellite-based environmental monitoring.
The judging panel evaluated the teams on parameters including technical innovation, implementation, problem-solving, scalability, feasibility, and presentation and communication skills. The panel also suggested improvements related to user experience, algorithm optimization, scalability, and practical implementation of the proposed solutions. Dr. Silki Baghla, Er. Sheenu, Er. The event was organized under the supervision of Er. Aman Paul(HOD CSE)  and Ms. Rubal Verma(SPOC SIH-2026)
The event encouraged students to apply their technical knowledge to practical problems while promoting innovation, teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills. It also served as an important platform for preparing the teams for the national-level Smart India Hackathon. The participating teams will further refine their solutions in accordance with the feedback received during the internal evaluation.
